 Participation is open to all residents of Monroe County who share the mission and values of the organization.  

Cultural Affairs Committee— Organizes cultural and heritage events as approved by the Board of Directors. Identifies and recruits Latino artists and actively seeks venues to promote the work of Latino artists in all media and to foster appreciation for Latino culture and artistic expression. Organizes the artistic portion of the group’s annual Hispanic Heritage month event and other events celebrating Latino culture. The Committee is currently looking to recruit Latino artists residing in the Poconos and surrounding areas.  For more information, please contact Vice President for Cultural Affairs Maria Ferreris at mrferreris@yahoo.com.  

Educational Affairs — Schedules events of academic interest to students and their parents as approved by the Board of Directors. Organizes scholarship fund— including scholarship fund development activities and setting up of process for recruitment, selection, and award of scholarship to Latino students.  The Committee is currently looking to recruit individuals who are interested in helping to promote and design our Scholarship Fund. Civic Affairs— This committee monitors national, state, local legislation, political appointments and governmental funding agencies, and political issues of interest to the Latino community. It communicates its findings via the LTF Board of Directors, the electronic and print media, and special mailings. It makes recommendations to the LTF Board and spearheads the resulting action as approved by the Board. It also orchestrates special projects and meetings with elected officials on an as-needed basis. It prepares panels, programs, seminars, and displays pertinent material related to the organization’s mission. It conducts voter registration and education campaigns. The Committee is currently looking to recruit individuals who are interested in helping to promote and design a Voter Education Campaign. Click on: Press Releases.
