Promoting Civic Participation

Welcome! Bienvenidos!

The Latino Task Force (LTF) of Monroe County works to advance the contributions of the Latino community through civic activities such a voter education and registration, policy analysis, and Latino and international heritage events.  Group members support fair and equal public policies and practices that respect the rights and cultural diversity of all the residents of Monroe County.

The Latino Task Force is the only Latino group solely serving Monroe CountyLTF is a 501c3, tax-exempt organization, and all donations are tax-deductible as stipulated under IRS guidelines. Participation as members of the Board of Directors or Committees is open to all who support the mission of the organization.  Join Us!

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration  2008

Kutztown University President Javier Ceballos (first from right) spoke of the achievements of Latinos in higher education, and of his own experiences as a Latino immigrant to a crowd of over 100 participants who attended Noche de Gala 2008, sponsored by the Latino Task Force of Monroe County to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month.  Photos Noche de Gala 2008

Gala honorees and LTF scholarship recipient Luis Pacheco  (photo on right) also received certificates of recognition from Kevin Murphy (photo on left below) , state director of public relations acting on behalf of Governor Ed Rendell and Secretary of the Commonwealth Pedro Cortes.  State Senator Lisa Baker also sent certificates of recognition.

The Latino Task Force of Monroe County also received a recognition certificate from the Office of the Commonwealth for its work to further civic engagement in Monroe County, and a proclamation from the Governor declaring September 15th-October 15th Hispanic Heritage month in Monroe County.
